CASTLEGAR, B.C. – A 62-year-old motorcyclist has died following a single-vehicle collision on Highway 3 east of Castlegar.
Castlegar RCMP say they were notified of the crash shortly after 7 p.m. on Sept. 5.
First responders arrived and found a motorcycle with significant damage along with its lone rider, a 62-year-old man who had died from his injuries.
According to RCMP, early indications suggest the rider was travelling along the highway when wildlife entered the roadway.
Investigators believe the motorcyclist attempted to avoid a collision by taking evasive action, causing the motorcycle to leave the highway and enter the ditch.
RCMP have not identified the rider in the material provided.
