Law-enforcement officials from British Columbia and Washington state met in Esquimalt to strengthen co-operation on organized crime, extortion and illegal drugs.
B.C. and Washington officials meet in Esquimalt
Senior law-enforcement officials, operational staff and experts met on September 1 for the annual Pacific Region Cross-Border Law Enforcement Forum. The Province says discussions covered organized crime, extortion, illegal drugs and lessons from FIFA World Cup 2026 security operations.
Extortion and organized crime among priorities
The provincial release says authorities are sharing intelligence and coordinating enforcement against criminal activity that moves across jurisdictions.
Tracking the illegal drug supply
Officials also presented B.C.’s Track and Trace pilot. The Province says the information may support investigations and early warnings.
